Hooking Up Multiple Monitors
The first thing you ll want to do is configure windows to play nicely with your multiple monitors.

This is helpful if you want your displays to match how they re set up in your home or office. To set up dual monitors first identify your computer s video connection type such as hdmi or dvi by checking the back of the monitor or cpu case. Adjust your settings so the monitors appear the way they do in front of you.
When you hook multiple monitors up to a computer you can move your mouse back and forth between them dragging programs between monitors as if you had an extra large desktop. You do not need to link the 2 monitors to each other via a cable. Then plug the cable from the second monitor into the free port on your computer.
Choose your display settings. Unless you have a very new laptop and very new monitors you ll probably need a bit more to make this work. However it s rarely that simple.
